Glyptolepis leptopterus Agassiz

This porolepiform fish can be only be found on Orkney in the Sandwick Fish Bed. It was a short, plump fish, but is poorly known. Shown below is a part of the body, a complete specimen and loose scales. It was a top predator and very rare in the Sandwick Fish Bed.
